Chinese company “Tencent” has launched a new artificial intelligence model, joining the race among companies striving to outperform “DeepSeek.”
Tencent describes its new AI model, “Hunyuan Turbo S,” launched last Thursday, as significantly faster than DeepSeek’s model. The company claims that its model is designed for instant responsiveness, setting it apart from DeepSeek’s deep-thinking approach, and it operates at a much lower cost.
Tencent released data showing that “Hunyuan Turbo S” is a strong competitor to DeepSeek’s “V3” model in common AI benchmarks.
Tencent is one of China’s largest cloud infrastructure providers, alongside Alibaba. The company has begun integrating DeepSeek’s technology into its platform “WeChat,” which has contributed to a rise in its stock value.
