Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 2025

Welcome to our Privacy Policy. We are committed to protecting your personal information and respecting your privacy rights. This Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding that data. We have updated this Policy to ensure full compliance with privacy laws in the United States (including California), Europe (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and Canada (PIPEDA), and to address recent recommendations for transparency and fairness.

Information We Collect

We may collect various types of information from you, including:

  • Information You Provide: This includes personal details (such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, etc.) that you provide when you create an account, fill out forms, contact customer support, or otherwise interact with our services.
  • Automatically Collected Data: When you use our website, we may automatically collect technical data like your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps. This information helps us analyze usage and improve our site’s functionality.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies for necessary functionality and, where permitted by law, for analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) and advertising (e.g., Google AdSense). Please review our Cookie Policy for details about the cookies we use and how to manage your preferences or withdraw consent in applicable regions.

We do not intentionally collect any sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial information, precise geolocation, or health data) unless it is absolutely necessary and with appropriate safeguards or consent. We also do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16, and our services are not directed to minors. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will promptly delete that data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Providing and Improving Services: To operate our website and services, process your requests, and improve user experience. For example, information you provide helps us respond to inquiries or customize features to your needs.
  • Communication: To send you updates or important notices about your account or transactions (for example, confirmation emails, technical alerts, or administrative messages). We may also send marketing communications if you have consented or as otherwise permitted by law, and you can opt out at any time.
  • Compliance and Protection: To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of service. We may use your data to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect the rights and safety of our users and our organization.
  • Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated, non-personal information about site usage to understand and improve our services. We do not use analytics to build individual behavioral profiles unless explicitly stated in advance.
  • Advertising: We use Google AdSense to display ads. AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to collect non-personal information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements that may be of interest to you. Learn more at Google’s Privacy & Terms for ads. You can control ad personalization at Ads Settings. See also our Cookie Policy for consent options in your region.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes described above and will obtain your consent if we need to use it for any other purpose not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers that help us run and secure our services. These providers are contractually required to process personal data only on our behalf and to protect it appropriately:

  • Cloudflare (performance and security, including DDoS protection). Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request data to provide its services. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy here.
  • Google Analytics (site analytics in aggregated form). Learn how Google uses data from partner sites here and review Google’s privacy policy here.
  • Google AdSense (advertising delivery and measurement). Read more about Google’s advertising technologies here and manage your ad settings here.
  • Fireworks.ai API (AI chat processing). When you use our AI chat features, your prompts and responses may be processed by Fireworks.ai to generate outputs. Fireworks.ai acts as our processor for this purpose and handles data in accordance with its own privacy commitments.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following situations, with appropriate safeguards:

  • Service Providers: As described above, to support hosting, security, analytics, advertising, email delivery, customer support, and related functions.
  • Legal Requirements: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality and appropriate notice.
  • With Your Consent: For any other sharing not covered above, only after we obtain your explicit consent.

We require recipients to handle personal information securely and lawfully and do not authorize them to use it for their own unrelated marketing purposes.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies or similar technologies for necessary functions (e.g., to remember preferences or maintain a session) and, where permitted, for analytics and advertising. For a detailed explanation—including the categories of cookies we use, their purposes, and how to manage or withdraw consent—please review our Cookie Policy. If we introduce new cookies or change their purposes, we will update the Cookie Policy and obtain any required consent beforehand.

Do Not Track: Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for responding to DNT, and we do not respond to such signals. We will revisit this position if standards emerge. You can manage cookies and consent via our Cookie Policy and adjust Google ad personalization at Ads Settings.

International Data Transfers

We are a global service, and your personal information may be stored or processed in countries other than your home country. In particular, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries such as the United States and China, as well as any other country where we or our service providers maintain operations. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Whenever we transfer personal data across national borders, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses: For EEA/UK users, we rely on the European Commission’s (or UK ICO’s) approved clauses or equivalent mechanisms, as applicable.
  • Additional Safeguards: Technical and organizational measures such as encryption, access controls, and contractual commitments from recipients.
  • User Consent Where Required: If no other lawful transfer mechanism applies, we will inform you and seek your explicit consent.

By using our website or services, you understand that your information may be transferred to our facilities and third parties in other countries. Such transfers will comply with applicable privacy laws, and we will ensure a comparable level of protection for your data.

Data Security

We implement reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls to databases, regular security audits, and staff training on data protection.

Please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law. For more information about our security posture, see Security & Trust.

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy and to comply with legal obligations. Retention periods vary based on the type of data and purpose of processing. When we no longer require personal data, we will securely delete or anonymize it. If deletion is not immediately possible (e.g., due to backups), we will isolate the data and stop active processing until it can be erased.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal information. We honor these rights and provide processes to exercise them. Below is a summary for key regions. You can also find related legal terms in our Terms of Use and Disclaimer.

Rights for Individuals in the EEA and UK

Subject to GDPR/UK GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and object to processing (including profiling based on legitimate interests). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior lawful processing. We will respond within the statutory timeframe (normally one month). Some rights are subject to legal exceptions. If we cannot fulfill a request, we will explain why.

You may lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA), such as your EU member-state authority or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Rights for California Residents

Under CCPA/CPRA, California residents may exercise the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for monetary value or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will provide a clear “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism. We also do not use sensitive personal information beyond purposes permitted by law.

Exercising Your California Rights: You (or an authorized agent) can contact us as described in Contact Us. We will verify your identity as required and respond within 45 days (or notify you if additional time is needed).

Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.

Rights for Residents of Other U.S. States

Residents of other U.S. states that have enacted privacy laws (for example, Colorado or Virginia) may also exercise similar rights regarding their personal information. We will respond to such requests as required by the applicable state laws.

Rights for Canadian Residents

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws, you have rights to access, correct, and withdraw consent (subject to legal/contractual limits and reasonable notice). Where possible, we will delete or anonymize personal information upon request, consistent with our legal obligations. If personal data is transferred outside Canada, we ensure a comparable level of protection.

If you have concerns about our privacy practices in Canada, you may contact us (see Contact Us). If you are not satisfied with our response, you can file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) or your provincial privacy commissioner.

Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or to comply with new laws and regulations. When we make changes, we will post the updated Policy on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. If the changes are significant, we may also notify you by email or through a notice on our website. By continuing to use our website or services after an updated Privacy Policy has been posted, you acknowledge and agree to the changes, to the extent permitted by law.
